Grades of Used Golf Balls:

5A / Mint: These balls are virtually indistinguishable from new, exhibiting no or minimal wear, and retaining their original color and sheen. They may include player markings, team, and corporate logos.

4A / Near Mint: These slightly imperfect balls have generally the appearance of a new ball after 1-3 holes of play. They may feature scuff marks, slight discoloration, and minor cosmetic blemishes that do not compromise their performance.

3A / Good: These very playable balls are in good condition, resembling a new ball after about 9 holes of use. They may have moderate surface blemishes, slight scuffs, and discoloration, but will not affect the ball's trajectory, distance, or flight path.

2A / Hit Away: These cosmetically challenged balls have major surface blemishes, significant discoloration, and may even be cut or out-of-round. While not recommended for regular play, they are ideal for practice or hitting where ball retrieval is not a concern.
